Denham Springs First United Methodist Church Burns

We got a call last night just after 9 pm from a friend who said the church was on fire. We got to the scene at around 9:20 pm. Although the fire fighters were doing their best a couple of hydrants were not working. They had to go another block to get water and it took them a while to get some of the trucks working right. They also had to truck in water to fight the back side of the fire.

Looks like they saved the sanctuary and the gym. The water and smoke damage is pretty bad.

We've only been members about 10 years but many people have spent their whole life in this church. The congregation will rebuild.
