I think we are ready for Gustav

As of 6pm Sunday Gustav has weakened and slowed but it could still be bad.

I was in some conference calls this morning and things are generally much better organized than
Katrina. Hopefully there will be no last minute surprises.

One thing local emergency management started making the automated calls to let us know what is happening. It has jammed phone lines and I have not been able to make a mobile phone call for the last 45 minutes but have been inundated with calls from them. Dear leaders please think before you use that expensive piece of crap you bought. The best way to notify us is through the media. Yes, we are listening.

Update: At about 7 pm I went out and it was eerily quiet. No wind, no birds, nothing....

Update: 8:15pm It finally started a light rain and a breeze. It's really dark out here in the country.
